free : behavior test on our training ground Call for an appointment to show your dog to us on our training ground. This involves no commitment for you. We will set up a free behavior study that may be of some interest to you, because we have studied thousands of dogs, and we sometimes detect points that you miss inspite of all your diligence. You may also prefer the test to be conducted at your home. We must then charge for our travel. We will determine its price with you by phone, based on distance and time required. This is the very best formula, by far. We always recommend starting your puppy's education as soon as possible; let us say, one week after his arrival. This way you immediately learn how to become a good dog owner instead of committing your first mistakes. We have lost track of the number of our customers who have warmly thanked us for having recommended our puppy school to them - puppy school that others have adopted after us... In the year 1985, we were virtually the first to recommend this baby dog schooling. Everywhere advisers said that it was a mistake to begin with dog training before the age of 6 months. Two options : on our training ground, or at your home. If, after the behavior test, you choose us to do your dog's basic training (and, most of all, his owner's basic training...) or to ask for a precise dog training technical lesson, we will arrange an appointment after we sign a common contract. *Basic dog training on our ground is divided in two parts starting with an intensive session covering one day and a half. ( It is difficult to do this more rapidly; hotels around my place do accept dogs.) Then you can have as many additional lessons as you wish, for the life of your dog, without any further charges. *At your home, anywhere in the world, you can receive basic dog training in two days. Ask us for the price. Our intensive session is done at the place where your dog lives. You can stay with your dog all the time if you wish. In any event, you must be present enough to learn your dog's codes. Of course, at your home, there is a charge for additional lessons! ***** Our goal is to make you quickly able to progress by yourself, on the basis of three exercises the dog will have learned with us : 1- walk on loose leash, and even off leash, 2- come running when called, 3- lie down and stay until given another command. Characteristics of our method are now well known: 1 The owner is present from the start to the end; thus, he can see everything. 2 There is no hitting or shouting, and we use the least possible force with each dog. 3 Lessons by appointment are for a single dog; we cannot train two beginner dogs at the same time. 4 Improvement lessons are optional and free. During an additional lesson, owner and dog practise only one exercise. Improvement lesson examples : under the trees, group lesson for long stay down, with dogowners roaming about. Food
refusal : tidbits are offered or thrown to the dogs, who are not allowed to
touch them! Skilled dogmasters, we need no electric shock collars! We use simple tools, plain (no pinch or choke) collar, 10 meters line, 2 meters leash. When needed, "Shellclip" comfort muzzle, anti-bark "magicol". And for us, thin leather gloves, for scratch protection. That's all. We stress the process of teaching the owner. Your learning takes 2/3 of basic training time and almost 100% of additional lessons. Because our real goal is not to be known as good dog trainers (we already that you no longer need us! Because then you will send new customers to us! ***** We are only able to tell how much our price is, after our free test . Each dog is unique, each master also. Generally, people talk about a serious problem when the owner is ready to get rid of his dog because he no longer knows what to do. The dog bites severely, or he keeps on barking, or perhaps he is badly scared by anything. Is this your dog's case? Stay confident. We have seen lots of terrible or terrifying dogs. When the owner has thecommitment (because we cannot substitute for him inside his house), there is always something to do. First, show us your four-legged companion. You pay nothing; you do not commit yourself. And we sometimes find out that things are not so serious... But sometimes the situation is really dramatic. Be aware that in no case does the solution come from use of physical abuse or shouts. We have learned this through years, having ourselves made these dramatic mistakes at the beginning of our career. Today, after a well-conducted re-training (performed with our classical intensive I I/2 days basic course plus endless extra lessons), many dogs that have been described as "unsavables" quietly live at home, for more than10 years sometimes. Of couse, re-training only works if the owner forces himself to follow our -always humane- advice with determination and calmness. And owners of dogs whose lives we have saved are the ones who send to us, by word of mouth, more new customers!
